40 Meditations on Loss and Recovery

      - Joyce E. Bellous

This book of meditations provides an opportunity to hear biblical cries of the heart. Underlying the words on every page is a hope that you will be able to connect so deeply with what is said in scripture that you sense more clearly what goes on in your own heart and also realize that painful experiences are felt and named by other people, some who lived thousands of years ago.

Involvement Styles Assessment

      - Joyce E. Bellous & Andrew G. Bellous

The involvement style assessment indicates your preferences for working in human systems. Every environment where human beings interact can be viewed as a system. Taking the assessment helps to discover how you tend to participate in systems, whether they are organized around family, education, business, religion, social justice, civic life or friendship. Understanding your preference for involvement is one way to work more effectively on projects with others.

Spiritual Styles Assessment

      - Joyce E. Bellous, David M. Csinos, Denise A. Peltomaki

Spiritual Styles measure the way people express what they are most concerned about. This assessment clarifies what people focus on as they try to make meaning out of life experiences or carry out daily tasks. The assessment offers an opportunity to see how people relate to and express what really matters to them. It also reveals that people have different ways of expressing what matters. Spiritual Styles measure the way we try to improve a situation or make the world a better place.

Spiritual Styles Assessment for Children

      - Joyce E. Bellous, David M. Csinos, Denise A. Peltomaki

As a teacher or leader, Spiritual Styles for Children will enable you to plan more effectively to meet the needs of children by identifying their dominant Style. The adult version fully explains the four spiritual Styles: Word, Emotion, Symbol and Action.  Every organization has a tendency to privilege one or two of these Styles and neglect the others.  In an environment that fails to include one or more of the four preferences, those who express themselves in one of the excluded Styles may feel as though they don’t belong or that something is wrong with them, and children are particularly at risk of feeling excluded.  This assessment is meant to be a tool that will help you create an inclusive environment in which children feel a sense of belonging. This assessment is not meant to label children, but to help you understand them and plan events that affirm all four Styles. Children flourish spiritually in environments where leaders and teachers accurately interpret their preferences, understand their ways of trying to make the world a better place.
